An Ant's Adventure by Karen

On a warm summer day, I was walking in my garden. It was the usual and everything was always taller than I. I just sometimes wished that I was just a little bit taller.

I did all my chores, collecting food for the family, but then I strolled around and found something quite unusual. I took a bite. I became taller and was excited for what awaited me. But everything seemed so small; I was a GIANT! I didn’t like this because I was so long.

I then found something that spoke to me, and when I ate it I became small again. I was so happy because I wasn’t alone anymore. I was grateful, for I realized that I was lucky to be small.

When I’m small, I can see the smallest details, from spots to dots or lines to string- they’re all patterns around me- that nobody else can ever see! I learned that I should be proud of my size and should no longer eat anything that doesn’t look familiar to me.
